The event takes place August 7 at Yollocalli Arts Reach, and includes work inspired by Chicago and made by artists living in the city.

A selection from the forthcoming Cycling: A Guide to Menstruation will appear in Bailliwik 08, due out August 28th. Bailliwik is an artists' collective and self-published periodical. It is hand-bound as a hard cover, full color, limited edition book.




The selection includes a four-page timeline of menstrual products. Here is the first page.

This show presents work by artists and activists representing historical and visual exchanges around feminist health movements, including the Menotoxin poster.

Period: The End of Menstruation, a documentary by Giovanna Chesler, premiers at the Gene Siskel Film Center of Chicago.

The film takes a close look at the cultural and medical side effects of menstrual suppression through hormonal birth control. Tip of the Iceberg and related works are shown in conjunction.
